How We Recruit

Your Journey Starts Here!

On these pages you will find lots of useful information and guidance to support you on your recruitment journey with us.

We want everyone to perform at their best throughout our recruitment process. Here’s what to expect, and how we will support you every step of the way.

Supporting You On Your Journey

All applications go through our online portal. Simply register, provide your details, and follow the instructions. Depending on the role, you may be asked to:

  • Complete an application form with your experience and qualifications

  • Submit short answers or a supporting statement about your skills and experience and how these match to what we are looking for.

Top tip: Complete all sections, you can save your progress and return to it at any time before the closing date. All opportunities close at midnight, unless otherwise stated.

We also ask for diversity-monitoring information. This helps us understand the diversity of our applicants and ensure our recruitment process is fair and inclusive. This information is never shared with those shortlisting applicants and is not used in hiring decisions.

Applications are reviewed against the skills, knowledge and experience set out in the person specification.

Top tip:

·         Structure your supporting statement in line with the person specification

·         Give clear, concise examples of how you meet the requirements

·         Highlight relevant examples that demonstrate our six thriving behaviours

·         Answer every question, we only ask questions relevant to shortlisting

If you’re successful at the shortlisting stage, you’ll be invited to an interview, in person or online via Teams, depending on the role. You may also be asked to complete tasks relevant to the skills and experience we are looking for. Examples include:

·         A panel interview with discussion questions

·         A written or practical task

·         A presentation, if the role involves public speaking

·         An assessment day (for development or specialist roles)

Some roles may include a second stage of interviews, and we will let you know in advance.

In all cases, we’ll provide you with information about the process beforehand, so you have what you need to perform at your best. If you’re unsuccessful, we will offer you feedback.

Top tip:

·         Read the person specification and prepare examples of how you meet it

·         Make sure your examples show what you did and the impact it had

·         Practice presenting your examples clearly and concisely

Successful candidates will receive an offer from the hiring manager. Once accepted, our HR team will contact you with a formal offer letter and will guide you through the onboarding process.

All offers are conditional on:

·         References

·         Right to work in the UK

·         Criminal records checks and evidence of qualifications (depending on the role)
