The Youth Sport Trust is the UK’s leading children’s charity dedicated to ensuring every child experiences the life-changing benefits of play and sport. With over 30 years of experience, we combine expertise with innovation to to be a leading voice in the world of physical activity, with a wide network and real impact across the sector.
In 2022, we launched our 2022–2035 strategy: Inspiring Changemakers – Building Belonging. Our aim is to galvanise and inspire changemakers to transform attitudes, improve practice, and drive policy change. Together, we harness the power of play and sport to build belonging for a generation — improving health, fostering inclusion, and developing character and leadership.
Our strategy focuses on three key objectives:
Urgent action – Rebuild healthier, happier, and more resilient young people, particularly those facing disadvantage.
Generational shift – Balance the demands of the digital age with the human connection of play and sport.
Societal change – Transform society’s perception of the importance of physical literacy, play, and sport in education and development.
These objectives are delivered through six key tactics, from equipping educators and empowering young leaders to uniting organisations, mobilising influencers, supporting families, and adapting to a changing world.
As the Youth Sport Trust enters the next phase of the strategy (2025–2028), we are focusing on:
Refining, simplifying, and amplifying our core services
Improving business systems and processes to make the organisation easier to work with and within
Growing overall revenue, with a particular focus on unrestricted income
